How unique is it for men to prefer anal to vaginal?
Having a man so interested in anal sex also surprised my doctor, too. She was surprised I had found a man who was fine with anal sex in place of vaginal, maybe even preferring it. She made me feel a bit discouraged that I could find another man like that.
Mr. Picky suggested perhaps it was a generational thing. He thought men of his cohort, the under 40′s, were cool with anal sex, and into it. I would imagine it’s more of an individual taste. My doctor, however, sees lots and lots of women with chronic vaginal pain conditions. The treatment “goal” is always pain free intercourse. One would think if anyone had met women who established positive sexual relationships with men focused primarily on anal sex, it would be a gynecologist who specializes in vaginal pain conditions.
So, what do you think? How common is it for men to be into anal sex with women? And is it a generational thing? What about the women?
I can’t speak for any other men, but I’ve always honestly preferred anal sex. Tighter, much more romantic/passionate and no risk of pregnancy.
What do you find more romantic/passionate about it, on your side of things?
On my end (in my end?) it requires more communication, going slower at the start, and a range of intense feelings that I don’t experience with vaginal penetration. There are different nerve endings stimulated. Because of the level of communication & care that must be taken to make it pleasurable & not painful, I find it can be more intense, passionate, all that good stuff.
Personally, I love anal. I’d be perfectly happy with a woman who couldn’t do PIV, but was into anal. I once did have a GF who suffered vulvodynia, but unfortunately, she didn’t like the idea of anal. I’ve also known women who prefer anal to PIV, which has been just fine with me. I don’t about it being a generation thing; I’m in my 40′s & I’ve always really liked it.
